Supporting Matt Dunne Will Get Windsor PILOT Reimbursement
Dear Fellow Windsor Residents,
We are all well aware of our town's unfair property tax burden and recurring budget difficulties. Because our community is smaller than other towns and much of the existing land is occupied by state-run facilities, our citizens are asked to contribute more than most Vermonters when paying property taxes. We are supposed to be reimbursed by the state through the PILOT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) program but we are not getting our fair share.
However, we can do something about it.
We need tough-minded public officials who can make sure Windsor gets realistic PILOT reimbursements from Montpelier. One candidate this election year stands out from the rest as someone who can get this accomplished. Former State Representative Matt Dunne is running for State Senate and he is on record and committed to ensuring that Windsor residents get the PILOT revenues they deserve.
Although I am a lifelong Republican, I plan to wholeheartedly support Matt because he is a proven leader who will work with Democrats and Republicans to ensure that PILOT is fully and fairly funded. I am so supportive of Matt that I plan to write him onto the Republican ballot on primary day, September 10th. I encourage others to join me in this effort so that Matt will get the bipartisan support he needs to win election to the State Senate.
Together, we can make sure that Windsor's voice is heard in Montpelier.
